ADVOCACY PUBLIC POLICY & LEGISLTION
At the heart of our work lies a crucial responsibility - to ensure that every American child is equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to succeed in college, work, and life. We believe that every child deserves an equal opportunity to access quality education, regardless of their background or circumstances, and that this is essential for building a better future for our nation.
In addition to our commitment to education, we are equally passionate about upholding the principle of equal rights and civic participation for all Americans. We firmly believe that every individual has a right to fully participate in our democracy and civic processes and that this is essential for promoting social justice and creating a more equitable society. Whether it's through voting, community engagement, or advocacy, we strive to empower every American to exercise their rights and responsibilities as an active citizen of our great nation.
About Reclaim Your Vote
The National Urban League’s Reclaim Your Vote campaign is a national effort to promote voter registration, voter education, and voter activation with the power of the Urban League Affiliate and Volunteer movement and our strategic partners.

We prioritize civic engagement and protecting voting rights because the people we elect matter. Our vote is our voice; it decides our future and shapes the world around us. In order to Defend Democracy, Demand Diversity, and Defeat poverty- we must vote.

The Urban League of Philadelphia is tackling voter apathy and fostering civic engagement through the 2024 Reclaim Your Vote campaign (formerly known as Rolling Out The Vote). This non-partisan initiative focuses on increasing voter turnout in Philadelphia communities with historically low participation rates. Through community outreach and education, the Reclaim Your Vote team provides accessible voter registration services and essential information on voting rights, polling locations, ballot initiatives, and opportunities to serve as poll workers. Each week, the team attends community events and engages voters through phone banks, text banks, canvasses, town halls, and social media campaigns.

Every year, the Urban League engages millions of voters across the country to increase voter turnout and empower our communities to make their voices heard to drive change where they live and across America. Since kicking off the Philadelphia campaign in April, we have engaged hundreds of voters across the city and are ramping up to reach thousands ahead of the Presidential election.
