CONGRESSMEN BOYLE TO PRESENT FUNDING AWARD TO URBAN LEAGUE TO HELP CITY’S MOST VULNERABLE AVOID HOMELESSNESS

June 28, 2022

On June 22nd, the Urban League of Philadelphia welcomed Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) to the office to announce their partnership to increase homeownership in the 2nd District.  The Community Project Fund is a federal program to address critical issues impacting local communities.  In Philadelphia, this Community Project Fund will focus on helping families achieve the dream of homeownership.  Through the Urban League’s HUD-certified housing counselors, families can receive financial education, loan assistance, funding, and other resources to assist in the homebuying process. The program will also work with families to prevent eviction and foreclosure.

President and CEO Andrea Custis adds that “more and more people are showing an interest in buying a home.  We should feel good about that because that’s how people in Black and brown communities can build intergenerational wealth.”
