The Urban League of Philadelphia Receives Funding from PHL COVID-19 Fund
Dozens of one-time emergency grants will be distributed to clients at risk of foreclosure
Philadelphia, PA (May 8, 2020) – The Urban League of Philadelphia (ULP) is thrilled to announce it has been selected as a recipient of the PHL COVID-19 Fund, a relief assistance program designed to provide aid to Greater Philadelphia nonprofit organizations with a successful track record of serving at-risk populations. Funds will provide emergency assistance to clients who have been impacted by the economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are honored to receive this generous funding from the PHL COVID-19 Fund,” said Andrea Custis, President & CEO of The Urban League of Philadelphia. “We appreciate the quick leadership of the Philadelphia Foundation, United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, and all of the businesses and organizations that made contributions to the Fund.”
PHL COVID-19 funding has enabled ULP to provide up to 50 families at risk of foreclosure with critical “no strings” emergency grants for food, gas, phone and utility bills, medical supplies, and housing-related costs.
“The health and safety of the families we serve is our top priority. These emergency grants will provide vital support to the most vulnerable,” said Custis.
